As the Family Care Coordinator at Ballard-Durand Funeral and Cremation Services, I am deeply committed to providing compassionate support to families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. My journey in the service industry began with a background in cosmetology, where I honed my skills in the art of care and attention to detail. This experience laid the foundation for my understanding of the importance of personal connection and empathy, qualities that I carry into my current role.
I am excited to further my professional development by enrolling in the PIMS online mortuary science program this January. My goal is to become a licensed funeral director, a role that will allow me to expand my contributions to families in need. This next step in my education is not just a career advancement; it is a commitment to enhancing my ability to assist others during their time of grief.
Empathy has always been at the core of what I do. I understand that every family is unique, and each service should reflect the individuality of the loved ones being honored. My passion for personalizing services is driven by a desire to ensure that each tribute is as meaningful and memorable as possible. I believe that the way we commemorate and celebrate lives can provide solace and healing to those left behind.
At Ballard-Durand, I work diligently to create an environment that fosters open communication and understanding. I strive to be a resource for families, helping them navigate the complexities of planning a service while offering emotional support every step of the way. I know that my role is not only about logistics but also about being a compassionate presence that families can rely on during their time of need.
As I continue my journey in the funeral service profession, I remain dedicated to upholding the values of empathy, respect, and dedication. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, as they will only deepen my understanding and commitment to serving families during their most vulnerable moments. It is my mission to ensure that everyone I work with feels truly cared for, and that their loved ones are honored in the most beautiful and personalized manner possible.

In 2015, Lulu the golden doodle became Westchester's first therapy dog to serve families in a funeral home. Like those used in hospitals and nursing homes, Lulu acted as a source of comfort and love in times of emotional distress. Families who requested her presence could soothe their grief by stroking her soft fur or merely enjoying her supportive companionship. A fixture at the funeral home, Lulu was well-known and well-loved by everyone in the Westchester community. Her sweet, outgoing nature touched the lives of all she came into contact with and contributed a calming presence to the atmosphere of the funeral home. Though her passing in March of 2021 was unexpected, Lulu leaves behind a lasting legacy of caring for and supporting others during their time of grief. Her memory has set the standard for all future therapy dogs at Ballard-Durand. Lulu's presence will be greatly missed by both Ballard-Durand staff and the Westchester community, but the memory of her dedicated life of service will continue to live on.
