Pet Cremation Services
At Ballard-Durand Funeral Home we have been helping families cope with the loss of a loved one for over 80 years, we understand that our animal companions deserve the same honor and tribute as any other family member.
At Colonial Pet Services Crematory, we offer dignified ways to say goodbye to a beloved pet. As pet parents ourselves, we understand the special bond between pets and families. We know the need to say goodbye is important, and that is why we established the first of its kind, stand-alone pet tribute center and crematory in nearby Oxford, CT. The Colonial Pet Tribute Center & Crematory is conveniently located with easy access from Route 80.

If a private cremation is chosen, your pet will be cremated alone with a unique identification tag that stays with your pet throughout the entire cremation process from pick up until return of the cremains. After the cremation is complete, your pet’s cremains will be returned to you along with the identification tag. Private cremation offers the family the opportunity for viewing and also the opportunity to view via digital recording. Viewing is by appointment only.
To schedule an appointment, please call us at (203) 941-2690.
Communal cremation means that your pet will be cremated with other pets. Your pet’s cremains are not able to be returned if a communal cremation is selected, however memorial keepsakes are available for you to purchase.
Owning and operating our own crematory allows us to care for your pet at all times. With our detailed cremation tracking system, you can be assured that your pet’s identity is safeguarded at all times and that the cremated remains you receive are those of your pet. Our Crematory is operated by trained staff who are licensed New York or Connecticut Funeral Directors who also have certification from the Cremation Association of North America (CANA). A member of our staff can transport your pet to our facility from your home or veterinarian’s office, 24 hours a day, relieving you of that often-difficult responsibility.
