Stephen Stuart

Stephen Stuart (originally Slobodkin, aka "Nikdobols"), award winning professional photographer, who turned to scrimshaw and writing to satisfy his creative forces when the photographers went digital, died this last weekend after a brave battle against cancer. His life is celebrated by his wife, Mary Ann Smania; his brother and sister-in-law, Marc and Carol Stuart; his nephews, Brian and Neil and Neil's wife, Julie: and their beloved boys, Daniel and Matthew. Steve's son (by a former marriage), Jamie Stuart, has found his creative talents best expressed in the venue of independent film making where he has also received recognition as a force in the field. And not to be left out of the celebration of Steve's life are those who were Steve's "Chosen People" (aka friends): the Erenberg's; Bobbie and Stuart; the Malfa's; the Grande's; the Panico's; the Jasnow's; the Sterns; the Weinraub’s; Jimmy and Michelle; all the "Knife Guys" too numerous to mention.....Steve's "guys", Marv, Irwin, Mike, and Pete; and all those who came into Steve's life by way of Mary Ann (except for the lawyers). Although from Florida, final arrangements for Steve are being made by the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home in White Plains, New York. Check their web site for details.
