Roberta E. Collins of White Plains, New York passed away on May 13,2019 at W.P. Hospital.
She was born October 29, 1942 in New York City to Mr. Sidney and Helene Strasberg.
Known lovingly by her many close friends as "Bobbi."
She was a college graduate in 1989 and was a lifelong learner of a variety of subjects.
Bobbi had an extensive career as an Office Administrator at W.P Hospital.
She could always be counted upon to liven up any gathering by sharing her humor and wit.
Among Bobbi's passions were travel, reading, attending concerts which was highlighted by attending Woodstock in 1969.
She was a volunteer at The Bronx Zoo and the rape crisis center.. Additionally she was unselfishly lending a hand at Community Unitarian Church of White Plains, NY.
She was an independent free spirit who always colored outside the lines.
As a mother and grandmother she was creative ,energetic, supportive , encouraging , and loving . She was known as affectionately as "googly eyed Grandma".
She is survived by her daughter Julie Kappers (Vincent Belardino), grandson Jefferson Kappers, granddaughter Sydney Kappers, and her brother Andy Strasberg (Patti).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday , June 8, 2019. At the Community Unitarian Church 468 Rosedale Ave White Plains , Ny 10605 at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers , donations can be made to The Wildlife Conservation Society at wcs.org.
