Robert A. Morano was born to Charles & Charlotte (Pine) Morano in Manhattan on January 10, 1945. He grew up in the Belmont area of the Bronx, where his love for doo-wop music was born. He was an altar boy at Mt. Carmel Church, attended Mt. St. Michael's High School & graduated from Bedford Park Academy. His many careers throughout his life included Wall Street trader, car service owner and insurance representative, but his true avocation was as a recovery counselor where he influenced and helped change the lives of so many people. Bob was a sports memorabilia collector, especially anything related to Don Mattingly. He rooted for the NY Yankees, Chicago Bulls and Washington Redskins.
Bob is survived by his son Robert, grandson Ryan and granddaughter Riley, all of Westminster, Maryland, and his sister Linda Morano and her daughter Laurie of the Bronx. He is also survived by his long-time companion and love of his life Susan DeMarsico who he resided with in White Plains, and her two sons Stephen (Donna) of West Harrison and their daughter Casey who called him PopPop, and Michael (Paul Ringer) of Manhattan. Bob will be missed by many, especially those individuals who benefitted from his ability and gift to make sense out of nonsense and help them change their path in life.
We will celebrate Bob's life at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10th at Ballard- Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue in White Plains, NY.
