Regina Catharine Perin, 82, of White Plains, New York passed away March 27, 2019. Jean was born January 6, 1937, in White Plains, New York to Francis Thomas and Rose Katherine Nichols. She graduated from Frederick E. Bellows High School in Mamaroneck, New York in 1955. She became a Flight Attendant in her early 20's for Eastern Airlines. In 1961 she married George Landor Perin III and had two children. She worked at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center (Westchester Division) from 1972 -1993 as a secretary in the department of admissions. After retiring from New York Hospital she worked for George A. Bell Insurance from 1995-2008. She has been a member of the White Plains Presbyterian church on North Broadway in White Plains for over 50 years. She was a pillar of her church community.
A loving mother leaves behind two children, Kim Grieco and husband George of Winston Salem N.C. and daughter Kristen Fuerst and husband John of Orlando, FL. She is survived by eight grandchildren Steven Fuerst and wife Kerry, Brittney Curtin and Husband Bill, Amy Grieco, Eric Fuerst, Alli Fuerst, and Elliot Fuerst. She was able to hear the news of her great-granddaughter Lenna Catharine, daughter of Brittney and Bill born March 24.
She is survived by sister in law Ruth Davis and her children Robert Davis and wife Gail, Jennifer Ahrenberg and husband Donnie, William Davis and wife Carolyn and Pamela Iodice and husband Ed. She is also survived by her sister in law Carol Nichols and her children Thomas Nichols Jr. and wife Carrie, Robin Judge and husband Jim and Suzy Levi and husband Darin. Jean was predeceased by her loving brother Thomas Nichols on February 18th who she said, "he always had to go first."
Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She attended numerous graduations, dance recitals, and sporting events and spent quality time with each grandchild. She was beautiful, smart and strong. Though the last few years have been difficult for her, she managed to keep a positive outlook on life and lived each day to the fullest. She touched the lives of all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at White Plains Presbyterian Church on April 12, 2019. The service will begin at 11:00 am with an immediate reception afterward at the church house. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following organizations in memory of Jean. White Plains Presbyterian Church, White Plains N.Y. and Saint Jude Children's Hospital Memphis, TN.
