Raymond Dimmie

Raymond A. Dimmie transitioned on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2020 to a greater life. Ray was born on August 4, 1936 in Bremo Bluff, Virginia to the late Katie Dimmie. He was the oldest child of three sons and raised like brother & sisters with his two cousins Alberta and Joyce.

Upon graduation, Ray served his country in the United States Army and 2 years in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged and moved to Tarrytown, NY. to live with his Cousins. Ray was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Tarrytown, NY. He served faithfully and diligently as a Deacon and a Trustee until his health started to declined. Ray worked at the Tarrytown Hall Nursing Home as a Porter for 10 years; after which he worked for Kraft General Foods for 33 years retiring in March 1996. Ray was an avid bowler, love the water and deep sea fishing.

On August 8, 1970 Ray married Annette Wright and together they raised their son Jeffrey Wright. Ray was a loving husband and father who gave of himself unconditionally to family and friends. Ray had a wonderful sense of humor, and a personality that made everyone enjoy being in his presence. Ray and Nettie loved traveling, cruising and attending family reunions. Ray leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Annette, son Jeff (Jonette); (2) brothers: Charles and Leon; (3) Brother in laws: Preston (Doylas) Wright, Theron (Terry) Wright; Jackie (Linda) Parnell; (2) Sister in laws: Janice Graves, Mary Wright; (2) Cousins/Sisters: Alberta Opie and Joyce Lacey and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his Mother: Katie and Brother in law: Howard Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
