Joi Mayhawk

Joi Mayhawk of Hartsdale passed away peacefully at Montefiore Hospital on January 26th, after a brief illness. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 22nd, 1960 to Robert and Joyce Davis Mayhawk. Joi attended Greenburgh Central 7 Schools and graduated from Woodlands High School in 1978. She attended the University of Michigan where she pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and earned a degree in English. Joi was an insurance broker, licensed in all 50 states for over 25 years. Joi is survived by her loving life partner, Louis Katz of over 20 years, his three children, Scott, Harry and Becky; her mother, Joyce Mayhawk; her sister, Lia Mayhawk Council, brother-in-law James Council, Jr. and her beloved nephews, Scotty and Remy McDonald, Kyle, James and Chris Council and her niece Krystal Council as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Joi will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
