Dr. Elsie Jane Lahrmann, 79, returned to her heavenly home on Monday March 11, 2019 after a courageous battle with a long illness. Elsie was born to the late Anthony & Vincenza Manganello in White Plains, New York on June 12, 1939. She attended White Plains schools and is a graduate of White Plains High School. She was employed by the City of White Plains, as the Director of Emergency Planning and Civil Defense. Upon her retirement from the City of White Plains, she, along with her husband, George, owned and operated Walker Surgical in White Plains. And during that time she also received her Doctorate of Naturopathy on July 11, 1998 from Westbrook University, and practiced holistic medicine up and until her death. Community was very important to her especially in the City she loved dearly, and most recently enjoyed her time serving on the Board of the White Plains Gedney Association. Elsie was predeceased by her husband, George P Lahrmann, and her two brothers, Frank and Sam Manganello. She is survived by her Nephews, Frank Manganello Jr. (Marie), Michael Manganello (Maureen), and her niece Lindamay Zulfer (Bob). She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, many devoted friends and extended family. A Funeral Mass celebrating Elsie's life will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on April 13, 2019 at 10:45am. Father Philip Quealy will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
