Yvonne McRae

On October 9th, Yvonne McRae passed away at St Johns Hospital in Yonkers, NY. Yvonne was born in Limon, Costa Rica on July 18th, born to her parents Whilemina McRae and Clarence McRae.

As a teenager, Yvonne discovered a fondness for pageants and balls, always having an appreciation for fine clothing and elegance. As a young immigrant she came to the United States with her sister and two brothers. She quickly got acclimated with the new culture and environment, finding a love for dancing, Broadway musicals, shopping and spending quality time with family.

Yvonne was known to her co-workers and close friends as a fun, loving, giving and a well-dressed woman. She was known by her only daughter as the epitome of strength, love, compassion, grace and elegance. Yvonne spent much of her time traveling, enjoying culturally diverse cuisines, and most of all pouring love into her daughter. In Yvonne’s older years, she poured that same love into her granddaughters London and Journee.

In her final days, Yvonne would lay in her bed with her grandchildren and cover them with kisses and hugs. Yvonne’s legacy of strength, elegance and grace will forever cover and guide her daughter and granddaughters. She will always remain in our hearts.

Yvonne is survived by her daughter Tania, grand daughters London and Journee, her brother Alvaro and sister-in-law Claudine and two nephews Mark and Michael and niece Danielle, Her brother Robert and nephew Julian, and sister Yvette and niece Jeanelle.
