Yvette Cole, age 96, died peacefully at home on January 11, 2023.
From the beginning, she broke barriers, winning a National Merit Scholarship and attending Cornell University, where she majored in French.
For 55 years, she was married to the love of her life, Thomas Michael Cole. Together, they created a big, boisterous and devoted family. Rich in friends and adventure, their travel included 20 years of fly-fishing around the world. Yvette once caught the biggest salmon of the year in Alaska.
Not your regular "bubbe," Yvette was stunning and glamorous. Nothing slowed her down. Later in her 80s, she traveled to India with her yoga class. Well into her 90s, Yvette was progressive, politically liberal and embraced her ever-growing, diverse family.
Predeceased by her husband, Tom, and brother, Alan Rosenberg, Yvette is survived by 4 daughters, Nancy, Alice, Sarah, and Amy, by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Yvette's family was a great source of pride and joy for her. She will be greatly missed.
