With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Yun Park on January 7, 2024, in
Hartsdale, NY. Born on January 15, 1947, in Seoul, South Korea, Yun was the daughter
of Young Jay and Bo Ok Kim. She graduated of Ewha Womans University, Seoul, South
Korea with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Yun called New York and Florida home for much of her adult life. She was not only a
devoted wife and mother but also a talented artist. Yun approached life with a vibrant
spirit, always eager to explore new experiences and embrace the adventures life had to
offer.
A true trailblazer for her family, Yun introduced them to the joys of tennis, skiing, golf
and swimming. Her love for travel ignited countless journeys with family and later with
her husband, creating cherished memories in countries around the world.
Yun was also an accomplished and celebrated artist. Her paintings and sculptures
adorned galleries in Soho and Chelsea, NY throughout the 1990s and was a member of
the Korean American Contemporary Artists Association.
Yun married Dr. Hee Myoung Park in 1970 who predeceased her in 2021. She is
survived by daughter Ellen Park and fiancée Scott Makosiej, daughter Susan Park and husband
George Fang, grandson Luke Fang and her sisters Jin Kim, Dong Bow Hyun and Dong
Hye Kim.
During this challenging time, we hope Yun Park will be remembered for the adventurous
spirit she infused into life, leaving an indelible mark on the world. May she rest in eternal
peace.
