William C. Webster Jr. of White Plains died at home Sunday, February 25. A lifelong resident of White Plains, he was born November 7, 1916 in the Webster house located on the site of the present Webster Bank at the corner of Mamaroneck Avenue and Post Road. He was the son of "Dutch" (William) Webster and Hazel Abeel Webster. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and of Dartmouth College, class of 1940, where he played varsity lacrosse. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was an officer and served in World War II.
He was an executive at Lever Brothers Co., now Unilever Corp., in Manhattan for many years, retiring in 1985. He loved his family above all else, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather with a special fondness for children and for animals.
Survivors include: his beloved wife of 65 years, Beryl Murrell Webster; two sons, W. David Webster and his partner, Larry Kramer, and Gary Webster and his wife, Gretchen; and two granddaughters, Morgan and Whitney Webster.
