William Schwartzenberg of Scarsdale, NY died on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the age of 81. He was born in NYC on December 2, 1924 to Samuel and Matilda Miller Schwartzenberg. The family moved to White Plains in 1927. He attended White Plains schools and in 1962 moved to Scarsdale. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Schuster Schwartzenberg, 4 children; Steven of Milford CT, Mark of White Plains, NY, David of Manchester, CT, Eileen Pribble of Alexandria, VA and their spouses, 9 grandchildren (and 3 spouses). He is also survived by his 2 great grandchildren.
William was predeceased by brothers, Lawrence of Boynton Beach, FL and Julius of Lake Worth, FL. He worked with his brothers in their family-owned business, Storm Hero Umbrella Company in Manhattan.
William was Post Commander of the Jewish War Veterans Post 191. An avid bowler, he was past president and Life Member of both the Westchester County Bowling Assn. and the New York State Bowling Assn. He served as secretary of the Westchester County Bowling Assn. for 30 years.
Interment to follow at Sharon Gardens Cemetery.
