William R. Rose II, age 83, a longtime resident of Scarsdale, passed away on October 6, 2005 after a brief illness. Bill, as he was known by friends and family, was born in New York City on May 26, 1922. He fought in France and Germany during World War II and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery. Other than two years when he was in the service, Bill spent every summer of his life in Lake Placid. Bill earned his private pilot's license and enjoyed many hours of flying N7868W. He had a successful career as a stockbroker in the New York area and retired from Salomon Smith Barney. He was a longtime member of Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Karyl, and their children: Rick, Robin, Judy, Lisa, Ken and Amy, along with their spouses and 12 grandchildren.... as well as Ruff & Tumble, their two Golden Retriever sons.

A private memorial service will be held.
