Wayne Wesley Kronquist passed peacefully on March 21, 2016, after a brief illness. Born May 17, 1931, in Marinette, WI, Wayne was a loving husband, witty father and grandfather. He is a graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, WI and Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force, and is a veteran of the Korean War. He taught in the mathematics department at Scarsdale High School for 31 years and started the first computer center in a NY school during that time.
Wayne is survived by his son, Erick Kronquist (Dianna) of Stafford, VA, his daughter, Kimberly Marsh (Todd) of White Plains, NY, son Joseph Viera, Sr. (Mary) of Richmond, VA, and sister Barbara Elliott (Bentley) of Cedarburg, WI. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Wesley Kronquist, Ainsley Kronquist, Michael Marsh, Jennifer Marsh, Kathryn Marsh, John Marsh, Kayla Jaeger, Sabrina Viera, Joseph Viera, Jr., great granddaughter, Elena Martin, his beloved Shih Tzu Westchester Fields (Chester), and many others who loved him.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 between 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home (White Plains) with services at 7:30. Wayne will be laid to rest in Marinette, Wisconsin at Forest Home Cemetery, beside his loving wife Dorothy Mae who predeceased him in 1976. Warm appreciation to Albena Tashalova, MD of White Plains Hospital as well as Calvary Hospital for their care and respect for Wayne’s final wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Salvation Army or the ASPCA.
