Vincent Giangaspro, longtime resident of New City, passed away surrounded by his family on March 1, 2016. He was born on November 10th, 1928 to the late William and Marie Giangaspro in the Bronx, NY. He married Blanche DiDio on May 30, 1969. Vinny worked as an arborist for the New York City Department of Parks and later for Barr Laboratories in Pomona. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Vinny is survived by his two adoring daughters, Jeannine Monaco and her husband Giulio, and Valerie Giangaspro and her fiancé Mark Cermele. He is also survived by his two cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Julia Monaco, a sister Angelina Fratianni, and his dog Buddy. Vinny was predeceased by his wife Blanche on March 1, 2010, and a brother Peter Giangaspro. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 4th at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, NY from 4-8PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5th at 10AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, West Harrison, NY.
