Vincent A. Coviello (Jim) passed away on Nov.6, 2015. Born in the Bronx on Nov.7, 1929 to the late Joseph and the late Rose Coviello. He graduated Mt. St. Michael Academy (1947) and Manhattan College (1951). He served in the army during the Korean War with the C.I.C. unit and was later stationed in Germany. Initially, he worked at his family's pork store in the Bronx. Later, he began teaching business and computer science as well as coaching baseball and track at Commerce High School and Yonkers High School. He loved teaching and was much beloved by his students. He had many humorous stories to share about his years of teaching. He was Treasurer of the Yonkers Teachers Federal Credit Union retiring after 40 years in 2007. He loved baseball and was a N.Y. Yankees fan. He spent many days at Yankee stadium and also worked at the ticket office with his cousin, Mike Rendine, who was ticket manager. He married the love of his life, Joan, in 1957. He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter Marrianne Costa; son James Coviello; grandchildren Joseph Anthony Coviello,; Brittanny Costa; Elizabeth Ann Costa & Justin Coviello and sister Mrs. Elizabeth (John) DeVito. One son, Joseph John Coviello, predeceased him. Vincent (Jim) was a kind loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caregiving, generous person to many. He will be deeply missed. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Sacred Heart Church, Hartsdale, N.Y. on Wednesday, 10:30 AM.
