Victor J. Esperito of Briarcliff Manor, NY died on January 27, 2012 at his residence. He was 95. Vic worked as a Foreman for General Motors in N. Tarrytown for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Local 664 UAW. After retirement he worked as a part time horticulturist. He was born in Ossining on March 6, 1916 to Leon and Madeline Del Penna Esperito. He was a graduate of Ossining High School where he lettered in four sports and caddied at the former Briarcliff Lodge. Victor served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945 attaining the rank of Wire Corporal in the 899th Field Artillery Battalion under Gen. Patton. In 1941 he married Gertrude Drucker in Ossining . She died in 1993. Locally he was a member of the VFW, Elks Lodge #1486 and past president of the former Westchester Bridge Sporting Club. His hobbies included gardening and golfing. He is survived by his brother and sister in law Anthony and Gilda Esperito and several nieces and nephews. Family members who died earlier include 4 brothers Joseph, Leon, Morris and Orlando Esperito and 2 sisters Susan Trathen and Mae Rudenstine. Calling hours are on Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10am St. Ann's Church, Ossining. Interment following at St. Augustine Cemetery.
