WHITE PLAINS, NY - Thomas Courtney, 91, of White Plains, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 28, 2020. Tom was born February 23, 1929 in Drumlish County Longford to the late James Courtney and Margaret Ann Evers. Tom immigrated to the United States in 1961 with his beloved fiancée, Mary Bridget O'Hara (Bridie), and they married on June 16, 1962. Tom and Bridie have resided in White Plains for the last fifty-eight years. Tom was a building manager in Harrison, NY for over twenty-five years. It was often said that there was no job that Tom couldn't do. He loved mowing his lawn and tending to his tomato garden. Tom was an avid New York Mets fan, bowler, golf player, dancer and the best babysitter anyone could ask for. Tom will always be remembered for the cap on his head, the twinkle in his eye, a warm smile and a firm handshake. He was past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians-- Div 17, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus and Union 32 BJ. Tom was an active parishioner of St. Bernard's Church for the past 55 years where he was a steadfast usher at the 10am Mass.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bridie, his son Thomas P. Courtney and wife Ginette of Wilton CT , his two daughters, Margaret Ann Turiano and her husband David of Rye, NY and Sharon Marie Zaicek and her husband Paul also of Rye, NY and his beloved sister Rose King of Valhalla. Among his greatest blessings were his grandchildren: Tommy, Courtney, Thomas Patrick, Patrick, Kevin, Allison, Aidan, JohnPaul, and Lily. Tom was predeceased by his 5 brothers and 2 sisters, as well as his grandson Tommy Turiano.
