Theresa Wynne

Theresa Wynne passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 28, 2023, at the age of 87 years old.

Theresa Wynne (nee Carolan) was born on February 22, 1936, in Cavan, Ireland. She is survived by her son, Vincent (Mary, predeceased) Wynne, and their children Kaitlyn and Dylan, daughter, Maureen Lydon (Brendan), and their children Kevin, Christopher (Rebecca) and Makayla and her daughter-in-law, Theresa (Michael, predeceased) and their children Kelly and Sarah. Theresa was preceded in passing by her husband Kevin, sons Kevin and Michael and grandson Kevin.

Theresa immigrated with her sister Kathleen to New York City after being orphaned at the age of 15. She got a job at the New York Foundling Hospital with no prior experience by convincing them she would work for free for the first week, if they didn't like her work, they could let her go with no pay. They loved her work ethic and she continued to work there until she got married and had her first child.

She then turned her attention to raising her 4 children. Once they were all in school Theresa went back to work for the New York Telephone Company as a Computer Operator and she worked there until she decided to retire.

Theresa had a passion for volunteering and was an active member of the Riverdale Irish Society for many years where she was instrumental in organizing the annual St. Patrick Day dance. There she could practice her great love for dancing and socializing. Her hobbies included a voracious appetite for reading, playing bingo and doing the daily crossword puzzle.

In retirement, Theresa moved to Escondido, CA to be closer to her daughter, Maureen, and her family.
