Theresa L. Cosentino (Terry), of Hawthorne, NY, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, April 30, 2021. She was 91 years old.
Terry was born to Anna Gentile and Vito Pichichero on June 20, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from New Utrecht High School. After graduating, she took a job with New York Telephone and worked as a business representative. She was vivacious, full of life, and loved to sing the popular tunes of the time. In her teens, she idolized Frank Sinatra. She saw him sing at the Paramount in NY and joined a Sinatra fan club. In March 1950, she attended a Knights of Columbus dance in Brooklyn, where she met her future husband and love of her life, Joseph Cosentino (Joe). They married on April 19, 1952, and had three wonderful daughters (Joanne, Donna, and Carol). In 1960, they had a house built in Hawthorne, NY, a growing hamlet at the time. She worked for Dr. Michael Tota, DDS, for over twenty years as his Dental Receptionist. Through the years they resided in Hawthorne, as their children went to school, married, and had families of their own.
Terry is survived by Joe Cosentino, her husband of 69 years, her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanne O'Rourke, Donna Goselin (Rich Goselin), and Carol Adduci (Leo Adduci), and her four loving grandchildren, Emily and Tom O'Rourke and Matt and Gillian Adduci.
Terry was adored by all who knew her. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, full of spirit, sharp wit, and boundless love for everyone she met. An avid reader, Terry loved to cook and was at her happiest stealing the show at family holidays. Her family is grateful for the wonderful times they had together. She will be dearly missed.
