Timmi Smallens died on Sunday, April 3 in White Plains, NY after a brief illness. Mrs. Smallens was 74. Mrs. Smallens grew up in New Rochelle, NY and attended New Rochelle High School and Vassar College. She obtained an advanced degree from Teacher's College at Columbia University. She taught special needs children for the first half of her career and then segued into program development and public relations for the Scarsdale Public Library. She lived in Scarsdale, NY for most of her adult life prior to moving to White Plains. A very devoted wife to her husband, Alexander Smallens, Jr., who predeceased her in 2009 after a long illness, Mrs. Smallens was a vibrant and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend and a beloved figure in the Scarsdale community. She is survived by her daughter, Meredith Smallens Lonner (Chris Lonner) of Scarsdale, NY and a son, Sandy Smallens (Leyla Turkkan-Smallens) of Yonkers, NY; her brother David Klein (Gail Klein) of Bethesda, MD; and five grandchildren.
