Tarik Eid

February 17, 1971 — March 20, 2023

White Plains, NY

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Eid family announces the passing of our beloved, kind, brave, caring, generous, dedicated, father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, Tarik Eid. Tarik, 52 years young, transitioned from his earthly life on Monday, March 20, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, after a shocking and devastating battle with Cancer. Tarik loved life. Tarik fought incredibly hard to stay with us. Tarik's final words were "thank you." His beautiful spirit touched the lives of many, and will remain with us for eternity.

Tarik, beloved first son of Fouad and Siham Eid, was born in Monrovia, Liberia on February 17, 1971. He grew up in Liberia and Lebanon, but the unfortunate warring conflicts in both countries forced his family to immigrate to New York when Tarik was 14 years old. Tarik's adaptable, outgoing and friendly personality made his transition to the West almost seamless; he made many good friends right away, and continued to find joy in playing his favorite game, soccer. An excellent student, bright, driven, with stellar grades, Tarik graduated from Edgemont High School in 1990 and received scholarships to attend and play soccer for Binghamton University. He graduated with a BA in English and Economics in 1994, and went on to pursue a successful career in business management. In 2009, Tarik decided to lead his family's business, Marconi and Company, in Monrovia, Liberia. As General Manager, Tarik worked enthusiastically and tirelessly until his unfortunate diagnosis in January 2023.

Tarik took great pride in his Lebanese roots, culture, and international experiences, which led him to his travels back to Lebanon in 2000 where he met his wonderful wife, Nesrine. They had a stunning, big wedding in the mountains of Lebanon and welcomed their daughter Lara in 2003 and son, Cezar in 2010.

Tarik loved life and was a social being. He enjoyed traveling for business and pleasure, fishing, boating, golfing, playing darts, cooking, listening to music, joking, playing soccer with his son, home projects with his daughter, entertaining and celebrating life with his wife, friends, and family. Tarik loved life. He made friends wherever he went; people gravitated to his genuine and kind energy. He was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him. Tarik was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life.

Tarik is survived by his wife Nesrine and two incredible children, Lara and Cezar; his parents, Siham and Fouad; sister Raya; brother, Youssif, niece, Sophie, nephew, Leo, as well as a loving extended family and countless friends around the world. Tarik loved deeply, and fought fiercely. We will miss him more than words can express, and we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, surrounded by light.

Visitation will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral Services, 2 Maple Ave., White Plains, NY 10601 on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM with service beginning at 1:00PM. Burial will be directly following at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280-284 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.

"In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow, your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity...
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance."
