Susan Ruth (Plovnick) Unger

Susan R. Unger, 70, of Chappaqua, New York passed away on Sunday, April 7 at Northern Westchester Medical Center. Born in the Bronx on April 21, 1942, Susan was the daughter of the late Jacob Plovnick and Dorothy (Berger) Plovnick. After growing up in the Bronx, she attended Hunter College in Manhattan. At age 19, Susan married Robert L. Unger and they soon moved to Westchester County and had three sons. After raising her three sons, Susan worked as a corporate travel agent before leaving the workforce to spend more time with her family. She was an avid reader and world traveler. Susan is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Unger, as well as their three sons: Jonathan M. Unger of Wakefield, MA (wife Kelley), Kenneth J. Unger of South Portland, ME (wife Jennifer Cote and son Alexander), and Brian S. Unger of Clifton Park, NY (wife Jennifer Bennett and son Max). Susan is also survived by her brother Mark Plovnick of Stockton, CA (wife Daisy Chan Plovnick and sons Jeffrey and Michael). A memorial service will be held in Susan's honor at a future date.
