On February 12, 2007, Stephen Barry Penchansky died at the age of 52. Beloved husband of Susan, cherished father of David and Robert, and loving brother of Jeffrey, Lillian and Michelle, Steve will be forever missed. He is also survived by his nephews Michael and Christopher and nieces Dayna, Danielle, Violet, Danielle Celine, Nicole, Devon, brothers-in-law Andrew and David Reid, as well as lifelong friends Bob Timko and Jerry Berson. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Meyer and Leatrice (Mortner) Penchansky, Steve grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from Midwood High School and Baruch College in Manhattan. Steve was an avid reader and camper. Many of his favorite memories were of camping with his sons, brother Jeff and nephew Michael at North Lake near Hunter Mountain. After over 25 years spent working in the retail industry, Steve recently started working for Foxtons in Purchase, NY where he could be closer to the family he loved. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his intelligence, his work ethic, his love of fried shrimp and his complete devotion to his family.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Calvary Hospital and Home Hospice in the Bronx for the loving care they provided.
