Sidney Welikson, born June 13, 1925 to Manny and Rose Goldberg in Brooklyn NY, died on February 3, 2010. Sidney is predeceased by his loving wife Hannah. He is survived by his daughter Frances Magelowitz and her husband Barry, his son Brian Welikson and his wife Lois, his sister Claire, his brother Ralph, and his three grandchildren Justin, Phillip and Louis. Sidney served his Country during World War II aboard the Submarine USS MuskaIfunge. He was employed by the Cresset Baxter and Spencer Company a financial typesetting firm where he started as an apprentice typesetter after the war until his retirement as plant manager in 1987. Sidney was his shop steward representing his men in the International Typographic Union; he enjoyed reading and listening to music from the big band era and socializing with his original and new neighbors of Whitewood estates in New City. A graveside funeral will be held at Sharon Gardens / The Kensico Cemetery on Friday February 5th at 2:30 P.M.
