Sharon Mercurio passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 21, at the age of 75. She was the devoted wife of P. Gilbert Mercurio and loving mother of Claudia Mercurio Ducic, Curtis Mercurio, and Douglas Mercurio. Born in California, Sharon traveled around the country because her father was a military officer. She met her husband, Gil, while working as an emergency room nurse in a military hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. The couple soon moved northeast to White Plains, NY, where they started and raised their family. They celebrated 51 years of marriage, before Gil's passing in 2021. Sharon lost her years-long battle with lung disease. Throughout everything, Sharon never wavered in her courage, positivity, and joy for life. She was an avid gardener, reader, and an excellent cook. Sharon was fond of saying she had a great life with no regrets. She asked not to have a large ceremony at her passing. Her life will be celebrated with a small memorial with her closest friends and family. Details to come.
