Dr. Seymour Mann passed away on March 3, 2012 at the age of 94. He was the beloved husband of Gertrude (nee Alpert), father of Douglas (Eileen), Janice (Geoff Clay), and Edward (Holly), grandfather of Naomi and Matthew Shostak, Darin, Blake, and Jordan, and great-grandfather of Noah.
Seymour was born in Brooklyn in 1917. He graduated from Syracuse University with a MD in 1939. Sy and Gertrude were married on August 28, 1941. During World War II, he served in the South West Pacific theater as a medical doctor with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Afterwards, Dr. Mann practiced internal medicine in Tuckahoe and joined the staff of Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, serving his patients for over 50 years.
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Rose Naidorf, and his brothers Robert and Sydney.
Interment will be private. The family will sit Shiva at home after the service.
