A/K/A Saverio Rossignuolo

February 22, 1930 – September 17, 2022

Sal Rossi, beloved husband of Christine Kitto, resided in Lake Worth, Florida for over 27 years. and formerly of Bronx, White Plains and Mahopac, N.Y. his parents were Joseph Rossignuolo and Maria DeBartolo who immigrated to the U.S, from San Donato di Ninea, Calabria, Italy. He grew up on Arthur Avenue with his lifelong friends, Joseph Petrucelli, Robert Miceli, and Vincent Miele. He was a naval veteran and a graduate of Fordham University.

Prior to his retirement he was a Vice President of Sales and Marketing in the insurance industry handling the pensions all of the major labor unions. Upon retirement he led a full life – traveling the world. He visited the Great Wall of China, the Panama Canal, Cuba, Croatia, Greece and traveled all through Europe. Later, he enjoyed returning annually to his father's town in Italy to visit his relatives who had remained there.

Sal believed in “abbondanza” - he loved the casinos, good restaurants, pinochle, pool, and fishing. Most important to him were his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife who was with him for 49 years and loved and cared for him throughout that time, his daughter Laura, who adored him, his grandson Michael Gelsomino who blessed him with a precious great- granddaughter, Amelia, and daughter-in-law Karen who will be blessing all of us with another great-grandchild. It is also a blessing that two weeks before his death he was with his family in New York. It was a visit we will all cherish. He passed peacefully due to complications from pneumonia. His son Steven passed November 9, 2005 due to a heart attack,  They are both loved, missed, and remembered. He lived a life well lived.

Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, Sept.30,2022 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. at 11 AM. Entombment to follow.
