In Loving Memory of Sandy Lutzker
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sandy Elayne Lutzker, 63, of White Plains, NY who left us on May 23, 2024.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 15, 1961, to Leon and Irene Lempert (both departed), Sandy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and a cherished friend to many.
Sandy received her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University, and went on to earn a Master's Degree at Montclair State University. She enjoyed a career in Speech-Language Pathology helping others find their voice. Sandy worked at Hastings-on-Hudson School District for nearly 30 years, where her compassion and expertise touched the lives of hundreds of students over the course of her career.
Outside of her professional life, Sandy found solace and joy in nature. She cherished moments outdoors, whether it was playing tennis, bicycling or simply appreciating the beauty of the natural world. During neighborhood walks she would often stop to take photos of beautiful flowers, sharing the photos with friends and family. She loved walking on the beach, collecting seashells or just relaxing.
Sandy is survived by her two children, Laura Lutzker Amato (Sal) and Jeffrey Lutzker (Sarah), her beloved granddaughter, Molly Lutzker, and her sister, Barbara Lempert Ching (Dexter).
Sandy's kindness, dedication, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of care and passion will continue to inspire those of us who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Visitation will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home 2 Maple Avenue White Plains, NY 10601 on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM where a memorial service will be held at 12PM.
