Salvatore J. Pennelle, Jr

Salvatore J. Pennelle, Jr. 84, of Thornwood, N.Y. died on Sept. 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Jan. 28, 1927 to the late Salvatore and Teresa (nee Benedetto) Pennelle in White Plains, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. Salvatore was former owner-operator of Mt.Pleasant Plumbing and Heating, Inc. in Thornwood, N.Y. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Thornwood American Legion , Gilbert Rauh Post # 1574. He is survived by his devoted wife Anne (nee Guerra) Pennelle of Thornwood, N.Y. and by his loving son, Salvatore (Carol) Pennelle of Hawthorne, N.Y. one sister, Mary (Edward) Santoro of Thornwood, N.Y. Also survived by his three cherished grandchildren; Ashley, Bridgette and Sean Pennelle. two nieces, Susan and Janet Santoro. Predeceased by his two brothers; Charles and Dominick and three sisters; Angela, Lillian and Rose. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Thursday 6-9 PM. and Friday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Pleasantville, N.Y. on Saturday 10 AM. Interment, All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Thornwood American Legion, Gilbert Rauh Post # 1574 would be appreciated.
