Ruth Schumm

Ruth Bertha Schumm, a resident of Clearwater, FL and formerly of Elmsford, died on January 18, 2012. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Schumm was born on January 19, 1929 in Buffalo to the late Joseph and Mary (Bittlinger) Tobin. She is pre-deceased by her husband William John in 1996 and her daughter Mary Ellen in 1995. She was one of nine children: the late Doris (late Charles) Slater, Howard (Jean) Tobin, Evelyn (late Al) Rich, Marilyn (late George) Laney, Richard Tobin, Joseph (Patricia) Tobin, Arlene (Norval) Kranz, and Charles (Judy) Tobin. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Reposing Friday, January 20, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main St, Elmsford, with a prayer service at 8pm. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Saturday at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Elmsford.
