Ruth Longo

Ruth E. Longo, a longtime resident of Greenburgh, NY died on November 1, 2012. She was 88. Ruth was born in1924 in California to the late Wallace and Eunice Goodwin. She was a Pre-School and Kindergarten Teacher at Our Lady of Fatima School in Scarsdale for sixteen years. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Longo whom she married in 1946. He died on August 30, 2003. She is survived by her four daughters: Maria Longo of Stamford CT., Clare Longo of Brooklyn, Jean Madden of Trumbull, CT., Janet Longo Abinanti of Pleasantville, NY; her two sons David Longo of Yorktown Heights, NY and Stephen Longo of Norwalk, CT; her six grandchildren Maggie, Michael, Daniel, Ryan , Justin and Joseph ; two great grandsons Joseph and Jack. She was predeceased by a grandson Tommy. Visiting will be Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home 21 Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY (914) 769-4404. A Mass of the Ressurection is scheduled for Monday 10AM Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mercy Center 377 East 145 Street, Bronx NY 10454.
