Rudolph N. (Rudy) Anderson, lifelong resident of White Plains, passed away Sunday July 1, 2012. He is survived by his only sister, Beverly Kelly and husband George Kelly. He also had two nieces, Cheryl Graham of Verbank, NY and Charlene Hartley and husband Derek of Pleasant Valley. He also had four great nephews, Johnathan Hartley, Joe Hartley, Jesse Hartley and Andrew Graham. Rudy attended the New York School of Visual Arts and was an accomplished artist prior to his enlistment in the Marine Corp. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. As a combat veteran he was decorated for that service. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked around the county as an electrician. A lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans, Rudy was very active at the local Veterans Outreach Center. Calling hours are at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, on Thursday July 5, from 2-4 and 7-9pm, with a funeral service at the Funeral Home on Friday at 11am. He will be interred at the Kensico Cemetery at a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or the Marine Corp Museum (http://www.usmcmuseum.com/).
