Roy W. Johanson

Roy W. Johanson 98, most recently of Thornwood, N.Y. and formerly of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. died on August 30, 2010 at his residence. He was born on Nov. 19, 1911 to the late John and Wendela (nee Paulson) Johanson in Bronx, N.Y. Roy proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked for Con Edison as Superintendent of Maintenance in Mt.Vernon and Eastview from 1927-1976. Roy was predeceased by his devoted wife Ethel Johanson in 2004, three brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving daughter Janet Brescia and her husband Joseph of Thornwood, N.Y. and also survived by his three cherished grandchildren; Joseph, Michael (Kristin) and Robert Brescia. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday 4-8 PM. Where funeral services will be held privately on Thursday 10 AM. Interment, Mt.Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
