Rosa Seidler of White Plains, NY passed away on January 8, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born in Kraiburg, Germany and immigrated to America after World War 2. She was predeceased by her husband Helmut Seidler, they were married for over 66 years. Loving mother of Christa Schmitz and Fred (DD) Seidler, cherished Grandmother of Andrea (Jared) Matesic, Jessica (Sean) Hartman, beloved Great Grandmother of Remi Matesic, Lukas and Mason Hartman.
Rosa Seidler was a dignified, wise and caring woman who knew both great happiness and challenging hardship during her lifetime. Always guided by her faith in God and love of family, she has left behind a legacy of which we are proud. She was a skilled seamstress, excellent cook and took pride in her home and passion for gardening. She and her husband ran a deli / butcher shop for nearly 30 years and lived the American Dream.
She never gave up her native German language, and found friendship and fellowship as a member of the Bavarian Club Edelweiss and the Steuben Society. Rosa was a devote Catholic and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. She went to mass weekly and believed in the power of prayer, grace, forgiveness and atonement.
Visitation at 4pm - 8:00pm on Wednesday January 11, 2023 at the Ballard Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY 10601. Mass at 10am Thursday January 11, 2023 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church 920 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains NY. Interment will follow at the Rural Cemetery.
