Ronald Louis Syarto

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ronald Louis Syarto of Hawthorne, New York on August 5, 2021. Ron passed away after a brief, but difficult battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 71; two days shy of his 72 ^nd birthday.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Joshua Syarto of Connecticut and Ryan Syarto of New York; his partner of 26 years, Catherine Torrieri of Hawthorne NY; her daughters Lisa Williams (husband Drew) of New York, Christina McNerney (husband Rob) of New York and adored grandchildren Matthew, Gianna and Evan. Also mourning his loss are his brother Richard Syarto of Florida; sister Lauren McInally (husband Tom) of California; and brother Stephen Syarto (wife Marilyn) of Connecticut. He is also survived by his Aunt Carole Syarto of Connecticut and cousins Sharon De Rosa and James Syarto of Connecticut. He will be greatly missed by his nieces Lindsey Penikas, Erin Flizack, Kathryn Hardey, Chloe Syarto; and nephew Conner Syarto.

He is predeceased by his parents, Louis W. and Jean Reel Syarto; as well as his grandparents Joseph and Katherine Syarto and Sherman and Fietta Strauser Reel.

Ron graduated from Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, CT in 1968. He then joined the US Navy and proudly served his country on The USS Forrestal from 1968-1972.

Ron was a devoted father and loving partner. He was a talented musician who had a great love of music and mastered the drums and guitar. He was an avid reader and loved to keep up with the latest technology. He enjoyed cars, the outdoors, bike riding and working out. He also loved gatherings and cooking for family.

Services for Ron Syarto will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Hawthorne Funeral Home.
