Robert Anthony Zevola

Surrounded by his family Robert Anthony Zevola died peacefully on January 16, 2023 at the age of 86. Bob was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY on November 21, 1936 to Daniel and Mary Zevola (nee Foster). He graduated from Saunders High School in 1954. He retired as a Postal Manager after 35 years in 1997.

Bob married Patricia (nee Shea) on September 30, 1961. He is survived by his wife of 61 years and his four daughters Patricia Gibbons (Michael), Elizabeth Ferrari (Richard), Maryellen Wiebke (Eric), and Margaret Brown (Andrew). He has fourteen grandchildren, Katherine (John) Stanley, Brian Gibbons, Melissa (Timothy) Strid, Daniel Gibbons, Michael Gibbons, Stephen (Nicole) Ferrari, Robert Gibbons, Kevin Wiebke, Steven Brown, Jacqueline Brown, Thomas Wiebke, Allison Wiebke, Douglas Brown, and Emily Wiebke. And six great grandchildren, Madison, Emma and Hailey Strid and Lucas, Benjamin and James Stanley.

He is also survived by his brother Daniel Zevola and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Daniel and Mary and his brothers Timothy and Ronald.

Bob was a devoted parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla where he served in numerous ministries (recently the “bingo boys”). He proudly served as an active member of the Valhalla Independent Fire Department for 27 years, and a life long member of the Fireman’s Benevolent Association and member of the Valhalla American Legion.   He was an avid golfer, bowler and a lifelong camper.  He will be missed!

Visitation will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne NY 10532 on Sunday, January 22nd from 2-6. A celebration of life mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 2 Broadway, Valhalla, NY 10595  on Monday, January 23rd at 11:00.
