Robert R. Popp

Robert R. Popp 85, of White Plains, NY died peacefully at his home on Sept.2, 2020.  He was born on May 19 ^th , 1935 to the late Dominik and Gertrude Popp (Holmes) of White Plains. His older sister Miriam died in childhood and his older brother Donald passed away in 2013. Robert was a lifelong bachelor. He is survived by his Sister in Law Ann Popp (Allegrino), Loving friend and housemate Asghar Ali Gondal, Niece Maryann Savoth and husband Charles of Edison, NJ, and Nephews’ William Popp and his wife Sandra of Nazareth, PA, John Popp and his wife Bonnie of Charlotte, NC, Stephan Popp of Clark, NJ, Christopher Popp of Wind Gap, PA, and Mathew Popp and his wife Anna of Clark, NJ., and 11 great nieces and nephews. Robert Graduated from White Plains High School in 1953. He was inducted into the Army in 1955 where he was in an Armored division as a supply clerk. Upon discharge in 1963 Robert pursued several career directions including getting a degree in Cosmetology before becoming part owner of the former Seaberghs Wholesale foods of White Plains.  Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, from 4pm to 8pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 12 ^th at 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, in White Plains followed by Interment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, White Plains, N.Y., would be appreciated.
