Rita Sutton

Rita B. Sutton died peacefully on October 22nd from complications of a long-term illness at her son's home in Connecticut. A life-long resident of White Plains, she also enjoyed 60 years of summering on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. She was an active volunteer with the White Plains Hospital, the White Plains Beautification Foundation and a life-long member of the White Plains Hospital Auxiliary.

Rita was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband, Glenn W. Sutton, Jr., predeceased her in 1994. Rita had three children, (Christine Wally, Suzanne Sutton (who predeceased her in 2002) and Glenn Sutton, III), 6 grandchildren (Joseph Nardo, Alex Lagos, Jessica Wally, Amanda Wally, Victoria Sutton and Lily Sutton) and 3 great-grandchildren (C.J. Lagos, Ryan Lagos and Drew Lagos.)

Friends and family may visit Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 9-11am at Ballard Durand Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral service will be held at the Church In The Highlands in White Plains at 12 noon on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Kensico Cemetary in Valhalla.
