Rita M. Schmidt

Rita M. Schmidt, 85, most recently a resident of The Bethel Nursing Home in Ossining, NY and formerly of Hicksville, NY and Berkley, CA. died January 2, 2013. She was born March 13, 1927 in Queens, NY to the Late Louis and Johanna ( nee Fruehaus) Eisemann. Rita was the Owner-Operator of Carousel Consignment in Berkeley, CA. She was predeceased by her husband George E. Schmidt in 1975, and one sister Florence Eisemann. She is survived by two sons Robert (Ann) Schmidt of Hicksville, NY, Richard (Geraldine) Schmidt of Briarcliff Manor, NY, five grandchildren Sara (Ron), Tara, Bobby, Danny, Michael, two Great grandchildren Cayson Richard, Madison Kathryn and one brother Henry Eisemann of Middle Village, NY. Reposing Friday 4 PM – 8 PM Hawthorne Funeral Home, Hawthorne, NY. Sunday 4 PM - 8 PM Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville, NY. Funeral Mass St. Ignatius Church Hicksville, NY Monday 9:45 AM. Interment Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Special thanks to the kind and caring Staff of Bethel Nursing Home and Cardiologist Dr. Stephen W. Kopf of Phelps Memorial. Rita was thoughtful caring and loving to her family. She was very proud of all her grandchildren and will be missed.
