Rita (Schlichting) McGrath

Rita McGrath 91, of White Plains, NY passed away on July 20, 2019. Rita was born on Dec. 30, 1927 to the late Alexander and Ethel (nee Kelly) Schlichting in White Plains, NY. Professionally Rita was a Social Worker for the Dept. of Social Services in Westchester County. Rita was predeceased by her devoted husband John McGrath in 2010. Rita is survived by her loving children Kathy (Craig) Adams of White Plains, NY, James (Deborah) McGrath of Queensbury, NY, John (Jean) McGrath of Ft. Myers, FL and Gary (Joni) McGrath of Carlsbad, CA. She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy (Ed) Richardson of Escondido, CA, Elizabeth (Robert) Stone of The Villages, FL as well as her thirteen cherished grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Rita was predeceased by three brothers Richard, James and Peter. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, NY on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY to follow.
