Rita Mary (Marczak) Frame

August 5, 1933 — June 4, 2021

Yonkers/Emerson,NJ

Rita Mary Marczak Frame, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at the age of 87 in Reading, PA on Friday June 4th, 2021

Rita was the loving wife of Gerard (Jerry) Frame of Elmhurst, NY whom she married on July 23, 1960 and shared life, children, family, hopes and dreams with Jerry until his sudden passing in 2002.  Rita is survived by three children and nine amazing grandchildren:  Carolyn Bamberger, wife of Kurt Bamberger, and their three children Ben (wife Lily), Brian and James:  Laurie Williams and her three children Christopher, Kimberly and Brian; Jennifer Tunney, wife of Owen Tunney, and their three children Owen, Rita (her grandmother’s namesake) and Reese.

Born and raised by a tight knit family on Elm Street in Yonkers, New York, Rita began life during the Great Depression, while father Paul Marczak and mother Marianna Grabowska Marczak, both immigrants from Poland, ran a small grocery store, known in their neighborhood for feeding the hungry during desperate times.  Rita’s life, family and spiritual values were also shaped by brother John and sisters Genevieve (Jean) Wyka and sister Alexandra, who dedicated her life to Christ as Sister Irene, all who have passed before Rita.  Rita never met her oldest sister Mary, who died at the age of 4 in Poland in 1916. Growing up in a Polish family, Rita was well-trained in Polish traditions and foods, and was known to never pass by a plate of Wyka-made homemade Pierogi!

Rita attended St. Casimir School, a strong Polish community church, and graduated from Yonkers High School.  She began her career working for NBC in New York City, then got married and moved to Rochester, NY for a year with Jerry, an industrial engineer. Rita and Jerry moved to River Edge, NJ, finally settling in Emerson, NJ in 1966 where they worshipped at Assumption Church. Rita left her career to raise her 3 children, and when they were older, she took a position with Medical Economics, a medical publishing company in Montvale, NJ.   She retired after over 25 years with Medical Economics in 2004.  She lived in her beloved home in Emerson for 50 years.

Rita’s strength in the face of adversity has been an inspiration to all who knew her.  She dedicated her life to loving and supporting her husband, children and grandchildren, never putting herself first. She was always a woman of great faith, and left this life with her rosaries in hand. Today we find peace knowing that she was welcomed back to the Father with loving arms, and is now sharing heaven’s best pierogi and kielbasa with Jean, Stan and others, while Jerry pours the beer!
