Rita Fracentese

Rita Hedy Fracentese, 81, of Valhalla, New York was peacefully called to Heaven on September 17th, 2024. She was born on June 9th, 1943 in Bronx, New York. Rita was the beloved daughter of the late Irwin Wachter and Hedwig Wachter (Schwab).

Rita is survived by her beloved husband, Roger Fracentense of 61 years; her three daughters Karen Stone (late Donny Stone), Diane Gagliardi, and Denise Settembre (Tony). She is also survived by her brother Ed Wachter (Dottie), her niece Christine, and her brother-in-law Anthony Fracentese (Linda). Better known as "Mom Mom", she loved her five grandchildren as they were her world; Kristie (Matthew), Michael, Amanda, Ashley, and Anthony. She was also a great-grandmother to her sweet Olivia Grace.

Rita was an account opener for New York Telephone which later became known as AT&T in White Plains, New York for many years. She owned the Chateau in Rose Hill Shopping Center for close to twenty years. She then owned JR Burgers in White Plains, New York. Years later, she retired to start her most favorite job, becoming a grandmother. She will be remembered for her boundless love for her family and her unique sense of humor. Playing card games, board games, hanging out by the pool, cooking, and being with her family were just some of Rita's favorite things. Lastly, we can't forget her love of Solitaire and scratch-offs.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Rita's legacy of love and kindness will endure. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Hawthorne Funeral Home in Hawthorne, New York. For those who wish to share their final goodbyes, please meet at the Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, September 20th at 10:00am. The burial will follow, taking place at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York.
