Richard J. Gordon

Richard J. Gordon, 89, of Valhalla, NY and formally of Honolulu, HI died on May 11, 2019.  He was born on October 31, 1929 to the late Thomas and Edith (nee Zurner) Gordon in North Pelham, NY.  He served very proudly with the US Air Force in the early 1950’s and attained the rank of Lt. Colonel.  He retired from military service on April 27, 1953.  He later worked on a civilian basis for the US Government on various Air Force Military Bases all over the world as an Environmental Engineer.  Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Violet (nee Harrison) Gordon of Valhalla, NY.  He also leaves behind his three sisters-in-law, Anna Harrison Mahony of Moodus, CT., Joan (Louis) Harrison Nelson of Stamford, CT. and Elizabeth Harrison Lally of Valhalla, NY.  He is also survived by his nine nieces and nephews.  Visitation at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 11 AM–1:00 PM where funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM with Full Military Honors.  Interment by family only to follow at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
