Richard Anthony D'Ambrosio passed away April 15, 2017 in Orlando, FL after a brief illness. He was 59. He was born September 3, 1957 in White Plains, NY to Jean (Rocco) and the late Marco A. D'Ambrosio. Richard(Rick) grew up in Thornwood, graduated from Westlake HS, and called many places home throughout his life. He worked in various occupations such as bartending/restaurant management, truck and heavy equipment operation, and enjoyed 12 years as a chef. For the past 7 years he took particular pride in volunteering his services, preparing the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Elks Club sponsored by St. Mary's Church, both in Oneonta, NY, for the lonely and homeless. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, boating and fishing. He loved his family and his many friends. He is survived by his mother, older brother Marc of Thornwood, his uncle Carmine Rocco and Terry Bruno, his aunts Gloria Rocco and Caroline Rocco, many cousins and Neil Carpenter and family. He will be missed. A memorial wake will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, April 28 from 4-8 PM. A mass will be held the following morning at 10 AM at Holy Innocents Church in Pleasantville. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Rick's name to the charity of your choice.
