Richard (Dick) P. Carroll

Richard (Dick) P. Carroll 81, of Thornwood, N.Y. died on March 2, 2015 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. He was born on June 22, 1933 to the late Richard and Elizabeth (nee Cregan) Carroll in NYC. He proudly served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Dick was a retired firefighter with the FDNY in the 1960's. He was an avid champion golfer. He is survived by his devoted wife, Arlene (nee Erikson) Carroll of Thornwood, N.Y. and by his loving children, Thomas (Sandy) Carroll of Hopewell Jct., N.Y., Richard (Terry) Carroll of Thornwood, N.Y. and Nancy Carroll and Jose Llamas of Thornwood, N.Y. two brothers, Maurice (Renate) Carroll of Springfield, VA, Daniel (Patricia) Carroll of Morristown, N.J. and one sister, Elizabeth Carroll of Basking Ridge, N.J. also survived by his six cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Danielle, Matthew, Sean, Connor and Andrew. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Friday, 10 AM. Interment, Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, N.Y.
