Renata Maria Cesaretti Amoruso, 88 died on August 26, 2012. Renata was the beloved wife of the late John J. Amoruso, Sr. and a former longtime resident of Mamaroneck, N.Y. died with her family by her side, at the Colony Ridge Nursing Home in Nags Head, NC. Renata was born in San Marino, Italy on June 14, 1924 to the late Antonietta Franciosi and Carlo Cesaretti. She immigrated to the United States in March of 1929. She grew up in Mt.Vernon and graduated from Edison Vocational Technical High School on June 24, 1941. Renata married John on April 8, 1944 and they were married for 62 years. In 1954, they moved to Mamaroneck and lived there over 50 years. She worked as a secretary for the Rye Neck School District for over 14 years and was a devout parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a proud and active member of the Columbiette's. In her spare time, Renata loved to crochet and bake. To celebrate Renata's life she leaves six children; John (Suzanne) of Hawthorne, N.Y., Frank (Dona) of Henderson, NV, Anthony (Fran) of Charlotte, NC, Carla (Ileana) of Albuquerque, NM, Michael of Pleasantville, N.Y. and Thomas (Dawn) of Kitty Hawk, NC. She was a proud grandmother of the late James and Peter and is survived by Mark(Christine), Carol (Nick), Joanne (Erik), J.J., Samantha, Ashley, Michael, Nicholas, Kessonda, Jessica, Amanda, Robert, and one great grandson, Nicholas. She is predeceased by her sister, Anna Ceretta. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Thursday, 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, N.Y. Memorial Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, would be appreciated.
