Rena Louise Villucci 87, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2016. Rena was born on September 9, 1929 in the Bronx, NY. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Gennaro (Jerry) Villucci, 2 sons Gerard and Peter, 6 grandchildren Theresa, Nicholas, Michael, Marc, Christopher and Joseph. She is also survived by her twin sister Renata and younger sister Lorraine. Rena was educated at Walton High School before going off to Baltimore, MD to study at the Sinai School of Nursing. Rena graduated as an RN in 1953 and moved back to the Bronx. Once back in the Bronx she embarked on a 50-year career as a nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. For over a decade she worked at the prestigious Harkness Pavilion, part of Columbia Presbyterian, where she was "nurse to the stars" taking care of 1950-60's luminaries such as Willie Mays, Duke Ellington, and Arlene Francis. Rena was a great cook who loved cooking for her family and friends. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday (Today) from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, NY on Thursday at 10 AM. Internment, All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville, NY to follow.
